Himanshu Choksi

Himanshu Choksi is an executive and entrepreneur with over sixteen years of experience in general management, marketing, product development and new venture development in the internet, communications, computer and semiconductor industries. Mr. Choksi was most recently interim CEO at Aftermind, a venture-backed company that provides a web platform enabling businesses to access a rich, offline post-sale service infrastructure.

He was a co-founder and Vice President of Marketing at Decide.com, a venture-backed B2C e-commerce company where he was responsible for product definition, development and management, marketing, advertising, PR and marketing partnership development. He led the successful market launch of the company's service and helped raise over $20M in venture funding.

Mr. Choksi was founding CEO of Onebox.com, a venture-backed company that provides internet-based unified messaging services. He developed the company's early business strategy and helped raise $3M in first round venture funding. In February 2000, Onebox.com was acquired by Phone.com in a transaction valued at approximately $850M.

Previously, he was Executive Director of Marketing & Sales at Pacific Bell Video Services, a `start-up' within the Pacific Telesis family of companies. During his tenure there, he worked in various management capacities in venture investment and development, product development, marketing and general management. Mr. Choksi spearheaded the integration of the $175M acquisition of a wireless cable company and served as its first General Manager. He led the company's market launch of Pacific Bell Digital TV, the first commercial offering of wireless digital television. As an early member of the company's interactive television effort, he developed the product specs and marketing plan for the first generation of interactive TV services subsequently launched in San Jose, California. During this time, Mr. Choksi helped negotiate a $300M joint venture between Pacific Telesis and two other RBOCs.

Prior to Pacific Telesis, Mr. Choksi was a consulting team leader at Bain & Company. While there, he advised clients' senior executives on business strategy, product and market strategy, new product launch and cost reduction. Mr. Choksi began his career in the Technology Development division of Intel Corporation where he developed next-generation IC technologies.

Mr. Choksi has authored two US patents and has three other patent applications pending. He holds a Bachelor of Technology degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, where he ranked first in his class; an MS from the University of California at Berkeley and an MBA from Stanford University, where he was an Arjay Miller Scholar.
